Welcome to A Naturalist's Notebook. My name is Deborah Stephenson, and this is my personal journal for all things related to nature, wildlife, and conservation. It is also a place for me to write about the many everyday events that occur around my very "rustic" homestead--where my life is filled with dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, multiple gardens and never-ending projects from putting in a well to mending fences, establishing wildlife ponds, planting trees and so much more.

 

​In this journal I jot down my observations and thoughts, hoping to share with you the wonders of the natural world as well as to point out the many ways in which we, as individuals, can aid our beautiful planet in the fight against climate change, wilderness destruction and loss of so many wonderful species--plant and animal alike.  

 

A deep and enduring passion for planet Earth drives me to offer my limited knowledge, and to speak--as well as I am able--for Nature, and to share my experiences with fellow nature lovers. I invite you to join me on this journey of discovery and appreciation of the beauty of our planet's unique ecosystems.
